Rubatano Center is excited to announce that this summer we are going to have a featured musician visiting from Zimbabwe, Kudzie Jambwa! What an amazing opportunity we will have to experience our much loved Zimbabwean music through his eyes. This is Kudzie’s first time visiting Whidbey Island, may he experience our warm embrace and grateful hearts. Please consider the wonderful classes being offered during his visit. Click the button below to see all of the classes, note each class has a suggested donation.

Kwaziwai, my name is Kudzie Jambwa.  I was born and bred in the high density suburb of Highfield in Harare. I grew up in a family with a mbira background because my father was a mbira player, and was taught my first song ("Karigamombe") by my father while sitting on his lap at the age of five years. Then I taught myself how to play marimba, ngoma, hosho etc. I have added modern instruments to my resumé as well. I do dancing from African to Western dances.
